Roofing Services for Your Home
Every job starts with finding what actually failed: a cracked neoprene pipe boot, a shingle tab that lost its seal strip, soft decking at the eave. That diagnosis drives the rest, whether it leads to roof repair, a full roof replacement, an inspection report, storm damage repair, gutter work or a metal roof. We are a licensed general contractor and an LP SmartSide Certified Installer, and our work is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty.

Roof Replacement
Full tear-off and reroof down to the deck, recommended only after we've checked whether a repair would still hold.

Roof Repair
We trace leaks to the failed boot, flashing or shingle, photograph it and repair it, and we tell you plainly when a new roof makes more sense.
Roof Inspections
A free, close look at shingles, flashing, decking and attic ventilation, with photos and a plain answer on what to repair now and what can wait.
Storm Damage Repair
Free post-storm inspections, dated photos of every damaged spot, help with your adjuster, and repairs that hold when a new roof isn't needed.
Gutters
Leaking seams, sagging runs and overflowing downspouts traced and fixed, with new one-piece aluminum gutters only when the old system can't be saved.
Metal Roofing
Standing seam and exposed-fastener metal roofs installed, plus fastener, boot and trim repairs that keep an existing metal roof working.
What Moves the Price of a Roof Job
Two roofs with the same footprint can land at very different prices. Most of the difference comes from what we find up there and the material you pick. These are the factors that matter most.
Estimates are free and no-obligation. We put together your price after we have been on the roof, broken out by repair or new roof and by each line item.
- Size and pitch
- Roofing is measured in squares of 100 square feet. A steep pitch means harness anchors, roof jacks and careful footing on every course, which takes longer than working a gentle slope. Each extra hip and valley adds cutting and flashing.
- Material
- Architectural asphalt shingles, standing seam metal and exposed-fastener metal panels each carry different material and labor costs. Metal costs more up front but sheds heat and wind-driven rain differently over its lifespan.
- Condition of the decking
- We cannot see every sheet of plywood or OSB until the old shingles come off. Decking that has delaminated from long-term moisture gets cut out and swapped for new sheets ahead of the underlayment, and that is priced per sheet.
- Flashing and penetrations
- Chimneys, skylights, plumbing vents and wall intersections all need step flashing, counterflashing or new boots. A roof with many penetrations takes more labor to seal correctly.
- Tear-off layers and access
- Removing two layers of old shingles takes longer and fills more dumpster space than one. Tight driveways, fences and landscaping close to the eaves can also add time.
- Permits and code items
- Reroofing requires a permit and inspection under the Florida Building Code, which also sets requirements for underlayment, nailing patterns and drip edge. We include those items in the estimate so they do not show up later as extras.
From First Call to Final Walkthrough
Each roof job follows the same order, so you always know the next step.
- 1
Book the visit
You call, describe what you are seeing, and we set a time for a technician to come out.
- 2
Inspection on the roof
Up top, we look over the field shingles, every run of flashing, the pipe boots and the gutter line, then check the underside of the deck from the attic hatch if it's accessible. We walk the slopes feeling for soft spots, look for tabs that have lifted or creased, and take a photo of each problem.
- 3
Repair or new roof, explained
We go over the photos with you and explain what failed and why. You get a line-item estimate for the fix that makes sense, and if a repair is reasonable, that is the option we lead with.
- 4
Work day
We cover plants and protect the yard, pull the permit when one is needed, and keep tear-off debris in the dumpster or trailer. At the end we run a magnetic sweep across the lawn and driveway for nails.
- 5
Final walkthrough
We walk the finished work with you, point out the new flashing and vents, and answer your questions while we are still on site.

How We Work on Your Roof
Most roofs that leak do not need to come off. We find the specific cause first, then tell you which fix makes financial sense.
- 01
The repair gets priced first
If the decking is solid and the damage is confined to one slope or one penetration, we quote the repair. When shingles are brittle, curling and shedding granules on every face of the roof, we say so and show you why a new roof is the better use of your money.
- 02
Photos of what we found
We photograph the parts that failed: the split boot, the rusted step flashing, the nail that backed out and punched through the shingle above it. You see the same evidence we used to make the recommendation.
- 03
Causes, not just stains
Water travels along the top of the decking and down rafters until it finds a place to drip, so a ceiling stain is rarely right under the hole. We trace it back to the entry point so the fix lands where the water gets in.
- 04
Help with storm claims
We work directly with your insurance adjuster on storm damage claims. That means measurements, dated photos and, if you like, one of us on the roof during the adjuster's visit. Your insurer makes the coverage call; our part is pointing out every creased tab and dented vent so it gets written down.
- 05
Financing available
A full reroof is a large expense. Financing is available, and we can go over it during your estimate.

A Roofer That Starts With the Repair
Roofing Penney Farms works on homes in Penney Farms and the towns around it. We spend most of our time on the parts of a roof that actually fail: pipe boots that crack after years of UV exposure, step flashing that rusts where it meets a wall, valleys that wear thin from carrying the most water, and nails that back out as the deck expands and contracts with heat.
Hard afternoon storms and hot, humid summers are tough on shingles and sealants, and that is exactly why we want to know what failed before anyone talks about a new roof. A shingle roof with sound decking and a single bad flashing detail usually just needs that detail fixed. When a roof has reached the end of its life, we tell you plainly and lay out your shingle and metal options side by side.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us
Something not covered here? (904) 872-5223
Is my roof worth repairing, or is it time for a replacement?
That comes down to how old the shingles are and how far the damage has spread. A leak at a pipe boot, a few blown-off tabs or one rusted flashing run can usually be repaired cleanly. If the shingles are brittle, curling and losing granules across the whole roof, or the decking is soft in several areas, patching will not last and we will explain why. You will see the photos either way.
How do I know if a storm damaged my roof?
Some damage is easy to spot, such as missing shingles or debris on the roof. Other damage is not: creased tabs that have lost their seal, lifted ridge caps or dents in metal vents. We offer free post-storm inspections, so you can have a technician check the roof and photograph anything we find before you decide whether to file a claim.
Will you deal with my insurance company?
We work directly with your insurance adjuster on storm damage claims. We provide photos and measurements and can be on the roof when the adjuster inspects. Coverage decisions belong to your insurer, but we make sure all of the damage is documented and explained.
What warranty comes with a new roof?
All of our new roof installations come with a no-leak guarantee. We go over exactly what it covers when we walk through your estimate.
Is metal roofing a good choice for my home?
Metal handles heat and wind-driven rain well and lasts far longer than asphalt shingles. Standing seam panels hide their fasteners, while exposed-fastener panels cost less but need the screws and washers checked over time. We compare both against architectural shingles for your roof so you can weigh up-front cost against lifespan.
Do I need a permit for roof work?
A full reroof needs a permit and a final inspection, and some larger repairs do too. When the job requires one, we pull the permit and schedule the inspection, and the cost of the permit is shown in your estimate.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, financing is available. We can go over your options during your free estimate so you know the full picture before you commit to anything.
Find Out What Your Roof Really Needs
A technician will check your roof, photograph what failed and tell you whether a repair will hold. You pay nothing for the estimate and owe us nothing after it.
